Steven Cohen has backed DeFi specialists for a crypto-trading company.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Aaron Lammer, a forty-year-old co-writer of the Kardashian song "Morning", started his new job at Radkl, a crypto quant-trading company, in October. Cohen, the billionaire founder and investor of Point 72 Asset Management hedge fund, has personally supported the firm which was launched in September. The Wall Street Journal previously reported.

Bloomberg first reported Lammer's path to Wall Street. He has written songs with Drake, Ye (previously known as Kanye West), edited cookbooks and launched a website that provides long-form journalism along with a podcast.

Five years ago, he began to explore the crypto world and launched and hosted "CoinTalk" podcast in 2018.

Radkl managing Director Jim Greco reached out to Bloomberg to share his experience on the Bloomberg podcast discussing DeFi concepts. Bloomberg reported that Greco had "learned a lot" and was eager to "chat".

Bloomberg stated that Lammer's entry into crypto was influenced by the rise of ethereum, a distributed blockchain that creates smart contracts and the subsequent so called dApps that powered DeFi. When he is at his daughter's birthday parties and playdates, he often finds himself explaining DeFi concepts to parents from the financial sector, who are not familiar with the term.

Lammer stated in an Insider message that "my own curiosity drew my to crypto." DeFi was the first thing that made me want crypto work. It's now a hobby that has become a job.
